of the Livestock Farming Institute of NAAS

UAEN

The State Poultry Research Station carries out a wide range of studies in poultry science – from breeding and genetics to feeding, veterinary aspects, and technological solutions – aimed at building a solid scientific foundation for the sustainable development of the poultry industry.

Fundamental research focuses on:

  • conservation and rational use of the national gene pool of domestic poultry, studying the genetic structure of populations using molecular markers, and assessing the influence of external stress factors on the phenotypic expression of polygenic traits;
  • improving the adaptive capacity of poultry through targeted influence on embryonic and early post-embryonic development;
  • studying the effects of dietary factors on the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of metabolism regulation, and substantiating the use of new feed components in view of challenges related to climate change and antimicrobial resistance;
  • investigating the mechanisms of cellular and humoral immunity formation and endocrine regulation under infectious diseases and complex vaccination programs.

Applied research includes:

  • development of energy- and resource-efficient technologies for rearing and housing poultry to produce safe products under different levels of resource availability;
  • reduction of environmental pollution associated with storage and processing of poultry manure, and development of technologies for litter regeneration and reuse;
  • optimization of incubation parameters, egg disinfection, and pre-incubation treatment using environmentally safe means;
  • creation of diagnostic, forecasting, and prevention systems for the most common poultry diseases, including mycotoxicoses;
  • study of current trends and strategic directions of organic poultry production;
  • development of scientific and methodological principles for establishing a production and technological cluster to ensure the supply of breeding poultry.
